The latest music video by 1D seems to have pushed my sister over the edge and onto their fandwagon (see what I did there?). She’s got it bad for One Direction.

I have to admit, it’s a brilliant video taking the piss out of past boyband/teen idol video constructs  - and though perhaps we shouldn’t credit the boys for the idea for it, they were smart enough to do it.

So with no further ado: One Direction - Kiss You (Official) (by OneDirectionVEVO)

My sister’s currently flying from Vancouver to Montreal — only to move to Toronto later this week.

Tonight I fly Toronto to London to spend two weeks traveling around Europe.

Is it obvious that we both had fairly nomadic upbringings?

My sister's off in Uganda for a 6 month internship. They recently got a new volunteer, who's in her early 20s from Canada and requires a lot of hand-holding. The gems my sister's emailed me requires documentation. I give you the first episode of Margot's Tales from Uganda:

M (my sister):
Oh, neat, it's Charles Dickens' birthday today.
B:
Who?
M:
Charles Dickens. (enunciated slowly)
B:
Never heard of him.
M:
Really? Charles Dickens? The author?
B:
Nope.
M:
(increasingly incredulous) Really? A Christmas Carol? A Tale of Two Cities?
B:
Never seen them.
M:
Oliver Twist?
B:
Oh I think I've heard of that.
M:
(giving up, dejected) Yeah, well he was a really famous British author in the 19th century.
