“Broadway, It’s Not Just For Gays Any More!” — The opening of last night’s Tonys.

The best line? “It’s not just for gays, the gays and the Jews, and cousins in from out of town you have to amuse…”

Because I’m still on a major Tony Award high and want it to keep my buoyant through Monday.

NYC-bound!
I realize I’ve been doing a terrrrrrible job of keeping this blog updated. And the worst part about that is I literally have notes and scribbles of ideas and thoughts and random things I want to write about littering my room and purses and pockets etc. It’s downright shameful!
Anyway, now I’m taking the weekend off, putting away the Friday Night Lights DVDs (I’m LOVING this show - thank you to my friend and fellow Taylor Kitsch lover Jackie for introducing me to the show and lending me the first 2 seasons on DVD) and hitting the Big Apple to catch up with an old friend and explore more of one of the most amazing cities I’ve ever been to. Short of living there for years and years, I don’t think I’ll ever know it well, but I long to. The last time I was there was back in 2005 with some of my best friends from university. It was madness and freezing (we went during Reading Week aka February/early March) and hilarious and incredible as always.
Things I want to do this time (that I haven’t done in past visits and it’s shameful):
visit MOMA
wander extensively through or bike around Central Park (and see Strawberry Fields among other things)
get a cupcake from Magnolia bakery OR actually go into and have something delicious at Serendipity (the line last time was insane and I was forced to just walk on by)
hang around the stage door at a show to see the stars (I’m going to see Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes on Promises Promises on Friday night; I can only dream of the happiness I’d experience meeting the Cheno.
shop on Canal St and in Chinatown
I’m SO excited. And of course I’ll try and fit in some Times Sq, Broadway, Madison Ave strolls.
And when I return, I’ll be making a concerted effort to blog CONSISTENTLY. Especially with True Blood starting, the Bachelorette going into its final weeks and some surprisingly good summer TV. Gone are the days of rerun hell for 4 summer months, my friends! PLUS TV series on DVD! I’ve got a season of Mad Men to watch, the rest of FNL and…I don’t know! But definitely something new!
Now to try to sleep and get through the work day tomorrow!!!!!! (There’s no such thing as too many exclamation points - I swear.)
